Upon Paramedic Arrival
The patient assessment begins at the doorway - the paramedic can see if the patient is critical.
Nearly simultaneously, the patient gets oxygen, the cardiac monitor is applied to see the initial EKG and vital signs are measured.
A 12-Lead EKG is performed and sent wirelessly to the ER doctor, the Cardiologist on-call and the Cardiac Cath. Lab all at the same time identifying the unit and patient.
