APPLICANT TESTING
FOR CORRECTIONS OFFICER

SHERIFF’S OFFICE
CURRENT
STARTING SALARY- AS OF 12/01/11- $27,976
The written
test for corrections officer applicants will be given at the
Adams County Courthouse, 6th & Vermont St. Quincy,
Illinois in the Adams County Boardroom at 1:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 14, 2012. Please use the west door located
on Vermont Street and be prepared to present a photo
identification. Testing should be completed no later than 3:00
p.m.
All applicants
passing the written test will be sent a letter advising them of
the date and time of oral interviews before the Merit
Commission. Those unsuccessful in the written test phase will
also be advised by letter. It is anticipated that the interviews
will be scheduled approximately two to three weeks after the
written testing date.
The Applicant
Background Investigation Form, when completed, is to be mailed
to Adams Co. Merit Commission, 928 Rim Road, Quincy, Illinois
62305 or mailed or dropped off at the Adams County Sheriff’s
Office, 521 Vermont Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. Only
those applications postmarked March 31, 2012 or prior will be
accepted.
Applicants wishing
to be considered for lateral transfer must complete the
application and submit it along with appropriate documentation
and your written request for lateral transfer no later than
March 31, 2012.
