Adams County has 21 board
members. The county is divided into seven districts, with
three members elected from each district. Each member
serves a four year term.
The members select the Board Chairman and Vice Chairman. This position is currently held by Les Post. Mike McLaughlin is the Vice Chairman.
The County Board holds all the powers of the County not assigned to elected officials. Overall, it is responsible for the management of County funds and business. It also has regulatory powers. Policies and programs of the County Board are implemented through the levying of taxes and the appropriating of funds.
