Tri-State Severe Weather and Preparedness Conference

Turn on the news and you will hear about a disaster or large scale emergency     occurring somewhere in the world.  How prepared is your organization when disaster strikes?   The Tri-State Severe Weather & Preparedness Conference showcases     preparedness tips and response strategies to disasters and threats that can improve your plans and procedures.  The best way to ensure a successful outcome is through pre-established partnerships and exercising key decision-making strategies before the incident.

This conference offers you the opportunity to develop those relationships; gain the necessary information to develop your response, and recovery plans; create your preparedness messaging to those you serve; and gain valuable insight into lessons learned and established best practices.  Over the two days, the insight and knowledge of nationally recognized experts and presentations will augment your current skills and plans with demonstrated practices and success stories.  Professional speakers with a variety of backgrounds will present many different aspects involving preparedness and critical incidents.

Who Should Attend:
Anyone interested in severe weather or disaster relief is encouraged to attend, this is a can’t-miss event!   This conference is open but not limited to the following people:

  • General Public
  • Dispatchers
  • Storm Spotters

  • Emergency Responders
  • Emergency Management Personnel

New this year will be a community based tabletop exercise, providing an opportunity to apply your organizations plans and procedures to a large widespread event.  The exercise will challenge key decision-making thresholds and the organizations command staff to manage an incident in a group atmosphere.  Upon completion of the exercise, an after action report and improvement plan will be developed and shared with participants.  This tabletop exercise is open to all participants from the public and private sector and satisfies requirements for healthcare facilities.

Lunch on both days and a hot breakfast on Saturday is provided and are good opportunities to meet and share ideas with others from neighboring jurisdictions.
