County Flood Services

The first thing you should do is check your flood hazard.  The Flood maps for Adams County were updated this year.  The most current flood maps are dated June 2, 2011. Please do not use any flood maps dated prior to June 2, 2011.  Flood maps and flood protection references are available in the Quincy Public Library.  The flood maps are also available on the Adams County GIS website at http://www.adamscountygis.com. You can visit the Adams County Highway Department in Quincy to see if you are in a mapped floodplain.  If so, we can give you more information, such as depth of flooding over a buildings first floor and past flood problems in the area.

If requested, the Adams County Highway Department will visit a property to review its flood problem and explain possible ways to prevent flood damage.  You may call the Adams County Highway Department at 223-0614 for this information.  These services are free.
