The
largest portion of the Environmental Health staff’s time is spent with the food
safety program, which includes the permitting and inspection of food
service businesses in Adams County.
The primary goal of the food program is to reduce the number
of food borne illnesses through regulation and education.
All businesses that prepare or sell food to the public are required
to obtain a Certificate of Compliance (a license) to
operate. Temporary food
stands that set up for events such as the Adams County Fair are also
required to apply for a permit prior to opening.

resources relating to the Food Protection Program.
