Environmental Health
The
Environmental Health (EH) program strives to protect
public health through food, tanning facilities, well
water and wastewater inspections as well as through the
investigation of nuisance complaints and West Nile Virus
mosquito surveillance. EH is supported by the
collection of permit fees as well as Illinois Department
of Public Health grants. We have three staff sanitarians,
all of which are cross-trained to provide services and
answer questions in any of our program areas. We
also utilize the services of a summer intern to perform
our West Nile Virus mosquito surveillance activities.
