WIC
- The Women, Infant and Children program provides Food and
nutritional information to income eligible pregnant women,
nursing women, infants and children up to age 5.
Newborn
Visits - Public Health Nurses contact
parents of each newborn of county residents to offer a home
visit when an infant is approximately 2 to 4 weeks old. Nurses
provide information on car seats, smoke detectors in the home,
immunizations, importance of well-baby and postpartum
appointments with appointments with their physician and hints on
ways to nurture their baby. There is no charge.
Family
Case Management
- The Family Case Management
program provides nurse case managers for women that are pregnant
and for infants that are below the 185% poverty level. Case
managers meet with clients in the home, assess their needs and
assist the client in reaching the goal of a healthy pregnancy
and child.
Vision
and Hearing Screenings of children are conducted in
all schools in Adams County annually. Monthly screening
clinics are available for preschool and school aged children the
first Monday of each month from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
AOK
- The All Our Kids: Early Childhood
Networks are a community-based collaboration that is committed
to developing a high-quality, well-coordinated, easily accessible
system of care that promotes positive growth and development for
children ages 0-5 and their families.
The overall goal of the All Our Kids: Birth to Five Network
is to maximize existing resources to ensure that all children under
the age of five years and their families have the opportunity to
receive the services they need.
