Approach to Community Health
PATCH
is a community process used to assess the community, identify health
priorities, strategically plan and evaluate interventions.
It
is
also a process for community collaboration.
Since 1990 the PATCH process has been used to reduce
community health disparities, disease, and increase the span of
healthy life.
Mental
Health: looking at access to care for Mental Health
Adams
County No-Tobacco Coalition – Reduce teen smoking in the
community, educate the community about the dangers of tobacco and to
promote policy changes that will lead to a smoke-free environment.
Adams
County Alcohol Steering Committee – will address the problems
associated with underage drinking utilizing environment strategies.
Collaboration among the represented organizations will
examine the three main components of environmental strategies:
availability, norms, and regulations to formulate effective ATOD
(Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs) prevention
The
Alcohol Committee has three subcommittees:
