Office Hours:  8:30 am to 4:30 pm 

Monday through Friday, except holidays

Documents for recording will be accepted until 4:30 pm.

At 4:00 pm we stop recording and any documents left will be recorded the next day in the order we received them.

The Recorder's primary responsibility is the maintenance of the indexing of documents in the chain of title to County land. Your property and its ownership is filed in the Recorder's Office. Today, revenue taken in by this office is based on fees provided by the Illinois State legislature in the Illinois Compiled Statutes and is deposited in the County corporate fund.
