The Adams County Merit Commission is accepting applications for testing from people seeking to become deputies and corrections officers for the Adams County Sheriff's Office.  For completion information including requirements, location, time, click the link below.

Sheriff Brent A. Fischer was elected in 1998.  He is committed to bringing "pride and integrity" to the department.  Biography 

 

Under the Sheriff is the Chief Deputy, Fred Kientzle.

 

There are five Sergeants in the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.  They are Andy Rivard, Randy Jackson, Bill Wilson, Brian Vonderhaar, and Rich Wagner.  We then have 22 sworn deputy sheriff’s who are the basis of our patrol division.

 Jail Administrator, Chad Downs, heads our corrections division with four sergeants supervising the shifts. Our correction facility is located on the top floor of the Adams County Courthouse and has a capacity of 120. There are 22 full time correction officers who staff the corrections facility.
