SHERIFF’S
WORK
ALTERNATIVE
PROGRAM
The
S.W.A.P. was developed to
help inmates as well as those sentenced to public service hours by
the Courts to return something back to their community. These people
work many hours everyday for 'not for profit organizations,’
government entities and helping with special events in our
community. These services are provided at no cost, thus providing
our community with quite a savings in man hours and money.
 |
Also
included in the services provided by S.W.A.P. are such things
as mowing the cemeteries in the county and shoveling sidewalks
and driveways in the winter for those disabled or aged. |
The
program uses inmates from the Adams County Jail that have a
"non-escape, non-violent" status, and all work is fully
supervised.
